In Ptah Hapt, Maria Angela harks back to the Egyptian creator god Ptah , master of form, sound and intention. But this being is not a literal god, he is an apparition: a hybrid, fish-like archetype with a split mouth enclosing a heart.
The heart is vulnerable. But also powerful.
What the being encloses can as well be born as swallowed.
Ptah Hapt is a vision of the primal power of creation — and the thin line between coming into being and passing away.
