In Musis Sacrum (1998), Maria Angela intertwines the artist and his creation with the cosmic source of inspiration. A violin merges with the body of a woman who is crouched, her body the shape of the instrument . The violin is not just an object — it is a symbol of the creative force that flows through her.
Above her appear the nine Muses , daughters of Zeus , holding hands — a visual connection between art and inspiration. The eye on their bellies symbolizes the source of insight and creation that lives within us all.
